1. Who We Are

French Fun Planner is operated by DeSmedt Games, trading as French Fun Planner. DeSmedt Games is the data controller for personal data processed through the app and decides how and why that data is used. Contact: support@frenchfun.ca.

2. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and any optional profile information you choose to provide, such as your display name or school name. We also store the schedules, classes, notes, and settings you create in the app, along with support messages, basic usage/telemetry data, device identifiers and IP address.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate the app, authenticate you, sync your data across devices, manage your subscription, respond to support requests, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of a contract (creating your account, providing the planner, managing your subscription); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement, and support); consent (optional analytics or marketing communications, which you can withdraw at any time); and legal obligation (tax, accounting and compliance record-keeping).

5. Cookies and Analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and may use limited analytics cookies to understand how the app is used. Analytics are limited to product improvement and do not track you across unrelated websites. You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in.

6. Data Sharing and Payments

We share personal data only with the categories of recipients needed to run the business:

• Merchant of Record — Paddle.com. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders, and Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. When you purchase a Teacher Pro subscription, your billing details, email address and transaction data are collected and processed by Paddle for payment processing, subscription management, invoicing, tax compliance and fraud prevention. Paddle acts as an independent controller for that data — see the Paddle Privacy Notice. We receive only limited subscription status information (such as plan, renewal date and payment status); we never see or store your full card details.
• Service providers / subprocessors — cloud hosting, database, authentication, email and support tooling.
• Professional advisers — legal and accounting, where necessary.
• Authorities — where required by law.

We do not share your planning content with other users unless you explicitly choose to share it. Some providers may process data outside your country; where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

7. Data Retention

We keep your account and planning data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be removed from active systems within a reasonable time, subject to backup retention and legal requirements.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local supervisory authority. We aim to respond within one month. Contact us at support@frenchfun.ca to make a request.

9. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No online service is completely secure, so please use a strong password and keep your login credentials private.

10. Children’s Privacy

French Fun Planner is designed for teachers and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can remove it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. We will post the revised version here, and the effective date will be updated below.
